"Oh deceiver! whose speech is absorbed in milk and is as sweet as honey, who lies that she knows that mountain (Arunācala/Jvālāliṅga) which was neither known by Lord Viṣṇu or seen by Lord Brahmā (Divine play of Lord Śiva and Lord Viṣṇu). Lord Śiva, whose form those who live on earth, paradise and other worlds cannot know has come in person to accept us and remove our blemishes. Even if we loudly shout “Hey Śiva, Hey Śiva!” you have never felt it. Oh girl with braided hair, is this your quality?"
The girl who is sleeping once said "I very well know Arunācaleśvara.". The friends mock her that She is a liar who says sweet lies that She knows that Arunācaleśvara who was not known and seen by Lord Viṣṇu and Lord Brahmā. Who knows about His form? Does the individuals living on earth know? Does the heavenly Devās know? Or then again does anybody of different worlds know? No one knows about Him and His forms. As said in past posts, He is unknowable and inaccessible. But for the sake of His devotees He takes their desired form to shower his grace and to remove their flaws and accept them. For example: For Vyāgrapādar and Patanjali muni He had appeared as Cidaṃbara Nataraja. For Mānikkavāsagar He showed up as His Guru and later as His Husband (Mādhurya Bhāva).
The young lady used to tell nectar coated words that She knows Śiva quite well, yet now, when all the companions arere gloriously singing the names of Śiva, she is sleeping with no emotions There are lovers who are forgetting themselves and falling unconscious by hearing the two syllabled word 'Śiva' yet she is still sleeping. Her words were simply empty words which did not contain any meanings.
Some become egoistic of their devotion. Ego in devotion is not good. A devotee is always humble and selfless and dear to the Lord. But when a devotee becomes egoistic, our Bhakta Vatsala Bhagavān removes all those impurities and accepts us. Who can care us more than He does? But we forget him and fall in love with material things like sleep, family, possessions etc. Mānikkavāsagar asks us to love the Lord as He is our sole shelter.
Hara! Hara!
Yours,
Śivapādahṛdaya.
