Thiruvempavai- 4

The friends: “Oh lady with sparkling smile! Has not the new day begun?”
The girl on bed: “Have all the ladies with parrot-like voice come?”
The friends: “We are telling you after counting. Don’t spend your time sleeping. Sing of Him who is the sole medication for the celestials, of Him who is the essence of Vedas, of Him who is apple of our eyes, sing of Him with melting heart and outpouring love. But, if you wish to know their number soon, you awaken and check them yourself and if the number is less, go to sleep again, Oh Lady!”
The friends sarcastically inquire as to whether it isn't dawn yet as the girl the still asleep. The girl as opposed to getting up and joining the group poses questions like "Did everyone come? Did the girl from opposite house come? Did the girl from the following street come?" And so on. The friends state that they've counted and everyone has come. They advise her to not waste time in sleeping instead she should be singing with overflowing love about that Vaidyanātha who is the only medication or solution for the issues of the celestial Devās, of that Veda Nāyaka who is essense of Vedas, of that Sundareśvara by whose vision billions of Manmatha faints and is beloved of his devotees. They say that even now if she wants to know the count she can come and count and if the number is less she can go to sleep till all the members of the group come.
This pāsuram is for them who rely upon others to adore Śiva or simply lazy and give excuses. Devotion in the company of other devotees is excellent, but it is not good that we skip the worship of Bhagavān because of our laziness and giving reasons like "No one were there to accompany me.".
Śubha Vivāh Pancami!
